At Nanaimo Midwifery, we are honoured to support growing families throughout the greater Nanaimo area, from Ladysmith to Nanoose. As primary maternity care providers, we care for healthy pregnant clients and their newborns from early pregnancy, through labour and birth, and until about six weeks after your baby arrives.
We warmly welcome people of all genders, family structures, and orientations. Our clinic is conveniently located in central Nanaimo, and we hold privileges at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, ensuring seamless care wherever you choose to give birth. We look forward to walking alongside you during this meaningful time in your life.
Those of us working at Nanaimo Midwifery acknowledge that we care for families on the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, and specifically the lands of the Snuneymuxw First Nation. These lands were never surrendered and remain home to Indigenous families and communities.
We recognize that colonialism disrupted Indigenous midwifery and birthing traditions and continues to shape inequities in maternal and infant health. We commit to advancing justice and equity in our work and to supporting Indigenous self-determination in reproductive and community health.
